Belvedere salon was at operation between 1921 and 1924 in Budapest. It exhibited and sold paintings of such – now famous and highly demanded – artists, who were of different kinds as regards their core content and means of expression yet formed a community: that of followers of pure artistic goals in new genuine ways .. for the salon respected not trends but quality in the first place.
Eighty years later both the name and the philosophy were reborn, in the fall of 2003 the new Belvedere Salon Gallery and Auction House opened representing and following this spirituality:

Pure art, true value and quality are prioritized.

The location chosen for the Belvedere Salon: the Szent István tér in Budapest, the most precious architectural complex of the City, the ancient monuments surrounding the Basilica and the square stand as reminders for us to respect quality and at the same time enable the gallery to truly function as an artistic salon – a place where artists, collectors, consultants of museums, cultural leaders, art dealers and critics of art treasures or the interested public can meet.

The surroundings of monuments together with the size of the Belvedere allow for the organization of large and small-scale auctions. The collection of the gallery offered at auctions and for continuous sale compiles a wide range of items such as paintings and artwork. Significant pieces include complete interiors, furniture, accessories (chandeliers, lamps, carpets, tapestries, statuettes, porcelain, etc.)

The artistic and cultural events or exhibitions organised at the Belvedere Salon, Gallery and Auction House ensure a permanent, vigorous social life together with high-quality programs and the milieu constant with the dignity of the place, the area of the Basilica and the Szent István tér, thus contributing to the improvement of the quality of tourism, cultural and artistic life in Budapest.
